Research Progress in Acidobacteria Diversity in Forest Soil

Abstract: The Acidobacteria as a new bacterial phylum defined based on molecular ecology is one of the most important soil microbial phylum. It is widely distributed in the soil, which suggests that it has a specific driving action and ecological function in the forest ecosystem. This paper reviewed the research progress in Acidobacteria diversity and the environment factors (altitude, pH value and C and N available in soil) affecting the diversity, and speculated the functions of Acidobacteria. Finally, the insufficiency in recent studies on Acidobacteriathe was analyzed. It is suggested that the future studies in this regard should focus on the dominant Acidobacteria subgroup and build a system of Acidobacteria isolation and incubation under different environmental conditions, which will be of the certain reference value.
