Abstract: Based on the ecological and health care function of forest, caring health and preventing diseases by utilizing high-quality forest resources are the new trend of the international community to safeguard human health in recent years. Forest wellness has emerged following the trend and drawn wide attention from all walks of life, meanwhile the related industry is rising. This paper reviews in systematic way the current research on forest wellness, including the effectiveness of forest wellness to improve human health, food for forest wellness, and the safety of forest wellness. Finally, the deficiencies in current studies are analyzed, and future prospects in this field are discussed. The objective of this study is to provide helpful references to the scientific research and industry development of forest wellness in China.
